Willuwalk collects your data, including data that directly or indirectly identifies you. Here is what personal data we collect and why:

  • We collect general account information such as your name, email address, and profile picture, which provide access to our service.
  • We also ask you to provide your child/children’s age(s), interests, language skills, and Facebook profile URL to make it easier to find the most suitable walking companion from the active users.
  • We use your contact information to respond to your inquiries and comments and to send you updates about the application. If you do not wish to receive updates to your email address, you can always opt out from the application settings.

Additionally, we collect and process your location data when using our service. We track your device’s location from the moment you start walking by pressing the “Start” button until you finish the walk by swiping the “Finish” button. To measure the distance walked, we need to store the tracked location data. If you wish to stop device location tracking, you will not be able to use the service.

In order to provide the option to chat with other users, we also need to collect the content of conversations. We do not use the content of conversations for any purpose other than facilitating communication between registered users. The content of conversations is not disclosed to third parties unless required by applicable law.

We use your mobile phone ID number to send you notifications regarding activities related to the mobile app (e.g., sending invitations, chat messages, marking meeting points, etc.). To expedite error detection and correction, we also collect information about your phone model and operating system.

Willuwalk asks you to register your account and log into the application using your accounts created with third-party services such as Facebook, Apple, and Google (hereinafter referred to as “third-party accounts”). By logging into the service through a third-party account, we collect data to which you have previously granted access (your name, email address, profile picture, Facebook profile URL). These data are collected by the third-party service provider, and the data is shared with Willuwalk according to their privacy policy. You can control the data shared by these sources by using the privacy settings in your third-party account.

Willuwalk uses the collected and received data according to the descriptions below:

For service provision:

  • We use the collected and received data to provide the service, including allowing you to:
    • Track your activities and measure the distance walked to participate in prize draws.
    • Interact with other users, helping them see your location and facilitating meetings with other users.
    • Mark and rate locations on the map. You have the option to mark locations on the map, review them, and add pictures. Before appearing on the map, we have the right to moderate and modify this information as necessary. In our system, we keep your added locations together with your name, but we do not disclose your name or picture to other users. If you comment, rate, or add a picture to locations already added, your first name and profile picture will be displayed alongside it.

For communication with you:

  • We use the collected data to respond to your inquiries and comments.
  • We may also use the collected data for marketing and advertising Willuwalk services and other commercial products or services, provided you have given us consent.

We do not sell your personal data.

Disclosure of personal data to third parties:

A third party is a contractual partner of Wanlig OÜ who processes personal data and provides services to Wanlig OÜ users through their product or service.

We use third parties who provide:

  • Email delivery and management system.
  • IT services for enabling, hosting, and managing our environment.

Personal data may also be transferred to third parties if required by applicable law (e.g., law enforcement authorities) or if it is necessary for the legitimate interests of Wanlig OÜ to protect its rights (e.g., legal advisors).

  • The right to withdraw your consent. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal or the processing of your personal data on other legal grounds.
  • The right to object to the processing of your personal data, to request the restriction of processing, or to request the transfer of your personal data.
  • The right to request the erasure of your personal data, for example, when they have been unlawfully processed or when there is no other legal basis for processing.

How long do we retain your personal data?

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described above or as required by law. Generally, this means that we retain your personal data until your account is deleted.

If we lack a continuing legal basis and purpose to process your personal data, we will delete the data.

Account and data deletion:

You can delete your account at any time. To delete your account, click the “Delete Account” button in the mobile application. After deleting your account, your personal data will be permanently erased from our systems.
